What Is Invisalign?
Invisalign uses a series of clear, plastic aligners to gently move your teeth into the right position. These aligners are custom-made to fit your unique smile and look like a thin, nearly invisible mouthguard.
How Does Invisalign Work?
1 – Consultation with Dr. Harris
It all starts with a initial exam or consultation. Dr. Harris will examine your teeth, talk with you about your smile goals, and explain your treatment options. He’ll help you decide if clear aligners are the right fit for you.
2 – Custom Treatment Plan
If Invisalign is a good match for your smile needs, Dr. Harris will use digital scans to create a personalized treatment plan to map out how your teeth will move over time.
3 – Your Clear Aligners Are Made
Your custom aligners are made using the custom plan. You’ll receive several sets of aligners and instructions for when to switch them out.
4 – Wear Your Aligners
To be effective, you need to wear your aligners as much as possible, usually 20 to 22 hours a day. That means you’ll only remove them to eat, brush, and floss.
5 – Check-Ins with Dr. Harris
You’ll visit every 6 to 8 weeks for a quick check-up with Dr. Harris so he can monitor your progress and adjust your plan as needed.
6 – Enjoy Your New Smile!
Why Clear Aligners are a Great Choice for Teens and Adults
- Clear and Discreet: Most people won’t even notice you’re wearing aligners!
- Comfortable: No metal brackets or wires. Invisalign aligners are made of smooth plastic that offers a more comfortable fit and less potential for cuts and injury while working or playing sports.
- Removable: Eat what you love and brush with ease. Removable aligners make day-to-day life simpler.
- Fewer Office Visits: Since you receive multiple aligners at once, Invisalign usually requires fewer appointments than braces, making it perfect for busy schedules.
Is Invisalign Right for You?
Not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign. At your consultation, Dr. Harris will walk you through your options and recommend the best treatment for your specific needs. Whether you’re an adult looking for a subtle solution or a teen hoping to avoid brackets, Invisalign might be the clear choice!
