One of the most common questions parents have about getting their kids in braces is what age is best to take them to an orthodontist. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends taking your child to see an orthodontist by age 7 for an evaluation. This does not necessarily mean that they will need full orthodontic treatment at age 7, but it is good to have a plan in place for when they do. You can also see if they will be a candidate for Invisalign® treatment which consists of a series of clear aligners that are made specifically for the patient and straighten over time.
